Why promotional USB sticks are a great way to interact with customers

There's always room for improvement in a business's marketing strategy, and one of the most effective ways to spread the word about your company or campaign is to invest in promotional products.

Most people love to receive things for nothing and, if you choose practical items - such as promotional USB memory sticks - that can be used by the public on a regular basis, this is a great way for your firm to stay in their mind, which could result in a wider customer base in the long run.

Figures released by the British Promotional Merchandise Association (BPMA) back this up, revealing that 68 per cent of people who answered its survey said they could recall the name of a business on a branded item they had been given in the last year.

Indeed, as many as 79 per cent of Brits stated they would be keen to do business with the same firm in the future, which could give your sales figures a valuable boost.

There is a wide selection of different promotional products you can choose from; umbrellas are sure to come in handy with Britain's rainy weather, while the huge number of tea drinkers in the country means that mugs are always appreciated!

However, products that could prove particularly popular are flash drives.

Target the USB market

The number of people who rely on their computers is growing all the time. Indeed, you don't have to worry about being confined to an office-based audience, as so many people use USBs on a daily basis - from children who need it for their school work to mums who use it to keep organised.

Figures released by the BPMA, showing that 45 per cent of Brits would like to receive USB sticks more than any other promotional item, are therefore hardly surprising.

By branding the flash drive with your logo, you'll be able to advertise your company to anyone who uses it, widening your potential customer base at the same time.

Create a lasting impression with USB sticks

While the growing popularity of flash drives means more and more people will find these products useful, it is important to design your USB stick so it works as an effective advertising tool.

There are plenty of different ways you can make your product look unique - why not have ones in bright colours or use a full colour print for your logo?

You could even choose flash drives in funny shapes so your brand will stick in the mind of whoever is using it at the time - most people are bound to remember one in the shape of a robot or animal, that's for sure!

Indeed, it is worth thinking carefully about what your USB stick will look like, as you can tailor it specifically to the needs of your target market. Busy mums, for example, will love a keyring holder on their device so it can always be within easy reach.

By making sure the flash drive is most useful for your potential customers, they are likely to keep hold of it for longer, giving them more time to remember your firm's name.

Indeed, the BPMA revealed that 15 per cent of those surveyed used their USB stick for longer than any other promotional item they received, proving just how effective they could be in advertising your brand.

Have you kept hold of a promotional flash drive for an exceptionally long time? Let us know by leaving your comments.
